The athlete from the Partenkirchen Ski Club also came up trumps at World Championships: In 2005 he won team gold in Bormio, and in 2013 he took individual silver in the slalom in Schladming. There he also wins team bronze. At the 2015 World Championships in Vail and Beaver Creek and 2017 in St. Moritz he won bronze in the slalom.

The athlete from the Partenkirchen Ski Club also came up trumps at World Championships: In 2005 he won team gold in Bormio, and in 2013 he took individual silver in the slalom in Schladming. However, Neureuther, who is popular with the public because of his rascal charm, remains unfinished at the Olympic Games: In 2010 in Vancouver he was eliminated in the first round of the slalom, but still finished eighth in the giant slalom. In 2014 in Sochi, he was unable to compete due to whiplash and a rib injury after a car accident. In 2018, a torn cruciate ligament prevents him from taking part.

Seine besten Abschluss-Platzierungen im Weltcup sind zweimal der 4. Platz im Gesamtweltcup (12/13, 14/15), dreimal der 2. Platz im Slalomweltcup (12/13, 13/14, 14/15) und einmal Rang vier im Riesenslalomweltcup (16/17).

After the 2018/19 season, Neureuther will finally announce the end of his career on 17 March 2019 at the age of 34 after many injury breaks. His best final placings in the World Cup are 4th place in the overall World Cup twice (12/13, 14/15), 2nd place in the Slalom World Cup three times (12/13, 13/14, 14/15) and fourth place in the Giant Slalom World Cup once (16/17).
