The first day of ISPO Munich 2024 brought inspiration, innovation and a clear message: sport is changing the world. Verena Bentele was honoured with the ISPO Cup for her tireless commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities, while tennis legend Andre Agassi inspired the audience with his emotional story and his commitment to disadvantaged children. The day showcased the future of the sports industry: from the spectacular ISPO Award, which honoured sustainable and functional innovations such as recyclable jackets and smart tools, to the Founders Fights, where start-ups such as Hypershell and The Hemp Runner set new standards. ISPO Day 1 impressively proved that sport not only inspires, but also moves and changes.

Highlights Day 2

The second day of ISPO Munich 2024 was all about sustainability, technology, and inspiration from outstanding personalities. Malaika Mihambo impressed with her authenticity, reflecting on how self-confidence and mental strength have made her one of the most successful track and field athletes. She emphasized that doubt and fear in competition can only be overcome by believing in oneself and presented her foundation, “Malaikas Herzsprung e.V.,” which provides children with access to sports. Alexander and Mischa Zverev showcased in their session “Intelligent Training” how mixed-reality technologies like the IMPROVR platform can revolutionize training. Alexander Zverev explained that these tools help target weaknesses, while Mischa Zverev highlighted the importance of such innovations for amateur athletes. Another highlight was the finale of the ISPO Brandnew Founders Fights, where Vitaloop emerged as the overall winner with its FlexGuard Water Filtration Bottle. This innovative solution sets new standards for clean drinking water and impressively demonstrated how startups can address global challenges. The ISPO Textrends Awards presented groundbreaking material innovations for Fall/Winter 26/27, emphasizing that creativity and sustainability will shape the future of the industry. Patagonia rounded off the day with an inspiring lecture on responsible supply chains, with Matt Dwyer stressing that true sustainability is achieved through collaboration.

The last day of ISPO Munich 2024 brought the focus on action, leadership, and unforgettable moments. National coach Julian Nagelsmann delivered an electrifying keynote on the Main Stage, sharing his vision in "How to unleash an entire country: Leadership guidelines from national coach Julian Nagelsmann." His insights into teamwork, motivation, and leadership inspired attendees to think boldly about driving success in their own fields.

The day also explored the future of sports and sustainability with sessions on circular materials, the challenges of business and nature, and the "Baller League" phenomenon. Retail took center stage with "The Renaissance of Retail," offering forward-thinking strategies for thriving in an evolving market.

From transformative journeys in overcoming mental and physical challenges to forward-looking previews of ISPO Textrends, the day was filled with ideas, connections, and inspiration.
