The proven Löffler transtex® technology is characterized by the fact that, thanks to its two-layer structure, it creates a perfect body climate in every season, even on cooler and cold days. This is made possible by an innovative knitting technique that combines polypropylene on the product's inside with other fibers on the outside.
The basis for the new transtex® RETR'X material is once again the synthetic fiber polypropylene. Its highly functional properties - polypropylene is one of the lightest fibers and does not absorb moisture itself, but passes it on quickly - make it perfect for endurance sports.
For reasons of sustainability and to continue to guarantee this highest functionality, Löffler uses a recycled polypropylene fiber from textile scraps for RETR'X instead of classic polypropylene and combines it with the cotton fiber recot2.
This cotton fiber consists of 25 percent recycled cotton and 75 percent GOTS-certified organic cotton. The recot2 cotton is neither dyed nor bleached, is GRS certified as well as Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX®. The processing of the cotton is particularly resource-friendly, especially with regard to water consumption.
transtex® technology is based on a two-layer knit: the polypropylene on the inside transports moisture away from the skin, while the second layer stores it and releases it to the outside. This two-layer material mix ensures natural body climate management.
The RETR'X material thus consists of 68 percent recycled polypropylene and 32 percent recot2 cotton. Like all Löffler underwear products, RETR'X is 100 percent manufactured at the company's headquarters in Ried im Innkreis, Austria. Production in Ried is STEP-certified, and all materials also come from STeP-certified suppliers in Europe. RETR'X is thus one of the first textile products in the outdoor industry to bear the coveted "MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX®" seal.
The longsleeve in two versions (round neck, stand-up collar) and the longpants will be available in stores for men and women in the color gray-melange from fall 2023.
