Jeroen Meijer, KEEN’s Senior Marketing Manager EMEA, explained: “Inspiration and insight for the brief for the Hyperport was to create a next generation of the Newport for the modern fan. The Newport is our founding model, as 20 years ago, we revolutionized the outdoor adventure industry with the introduction of the original Keen Newport hybrid sandal. The main objective for the Hyperport was to be lighter weight and even more comfortable. We looked at modern constructions with KEEN DNA design elements. So, the big update from the Newport to Hyperport is the injected EVA midsole using a compound called Kalibrate+ foam. It’s soft and tuned for cushioning but retains responsiveness, to be a more active product compared to a recovery sandal.”
