Two years of development work in collaboration with Schoeller Textil AG from Switzerland resulted in the design of a high-performance, sustainable and exclusive 3-layer fabric for demanding conditions, combining the particularly abrasion-resistant Schoeller fabric with the 100 percent recycled Texapore Ecosphere Pro membrane. The Texapore Ecosphere membrane is made from production waste that is recycled back into the production cycle - a zero-waste concept. It is the ideal combination of the highest quality standards and advances in sustainability.
The resulting exclusive material significantly improves comfort, durability and longevity. Schoeller's shell fabric is made of 87 percent recycled polyamide with 13 percent elastane. This fabric has been treated with a 100 percent PFC-free DWR and is laminated with Jack Wolfskin's highly functional Texapore Ecosphere Pro membrane, which is also made from 100 percent recycled/reused polyester. The main fabric as well as the lining, welding and other materials used are bluesign approved. The 3-layer jacket impresses with a soft, supple feel; the material and design allow for almost silent movement in nature. Nevertheless, it is very durable and guarantees excellent waterproofness with simultaneous breathability.
The construction of the jacket demonstrates a lot of technical know-how and attention to detail. For example, special ventilation solutions have been incorporated in the chest area to further increase comfort. For this purpose, ventilation flaps were lined with mesh, which ensure pleasant temperatures in both cold and tropical regions. Optimal performance is also ensured by the stowable 2.5-layer "Taco Shell" hood, spacious pockets and waterproof zippers.
