Winner of the ISPO Award 2024: The Watusi G2 Expedition Suit by BLACKYAK

This high-performance expedition suit is part of BLACKYAK's TheOne collection. Designed for mountaineering, the line is deliberately built to last and is suitable for multiple expeditions. To achieve this, BLACKYAK uses highly functional materials that have been tested by athletes in extreme conditions. 

This one-piece suit has been developed for extreme altitudes. Its streamlined design ensures optimal mobility and aerodynamics. It is filled with 800 fill power RDS-certified down to ensure excellent warmth with minimal weight. Additionally, the down has been treated with the water-repellent NIKWAX® finish to prevent clumping and loss of loft when wet, ensuring full warmth even in the harshest conditions. The YAK BOX-WALL™ construction of the down chambers prevents cold spots and ensures even heat distribution without taking up a lot of volume. In areas at risk of moisture, such as under the arms, G-loft SI synthetic insulation guarantees maximum warmth without adding bulk. 

The suit has an adjustable vest with practical pockets and a hydration bladder integrated into it, so that as much equipment as possible can be stowed close to the body. Thanks to the vest, the outer jacket can also be removed at any time; holders on the waistband allow the sleeves to be attached so that they do not interfere or drag on the ground. The rainbow zipper at the back is also practical.

The jacket is made of robust Nylon66 and CORDURA® ripstop. KEVLAR® reinforcements at points subject to particular wear and tear offer exceptional durability and protection. Strategically placed waterproof zones on the hood, collar and arms offer critical weather resistance without additional volume. Extra features include a helmet-compatible hood, two-way zippers, adjustable fit, side leg zippers, magnetic closures, reinforced gaiters and a RECCO reflector.

This unisex suit has been designed for demanding mountaineers, with rigorous field testing and advanced material selection for a lifespan of more than ten years. It will be available from September 2025.
