Interest in such concepts has grown in recent years as environmental protection and sustainability have become more important in society. The negative effects of climate change are also increasingly felt in winter sports. That is why Doubledeck has chosen the Let-to-Rent program for its snowboards. The rental system conserves resources and creates a sustainable alternative to buying snowboards.
The boards are rented to snowboarders and retailers through the Doubledeck online store for a fee based on the rental period. At the end of the rental period, Doubledeck takes the products back. They are then either serviced for the next rental or redesigned and rebuilt for the next season. At the end of their life cycle, boards are recycled and materials are reused as much as possible for new boards.
Renting the boards has several benefits for both the shops and the riders.

Doubledeck offers retailers two different ways to rent their snowboards.
1. Let to Rent Standard
Stores rent a digital customer stopper for a monthly fee. The customer stopper is an information board that allows customers to order their desired board directly from Doubledeck.
The board is then delivered to the store where the customer can pick it up.
All sales are handled through the Doubledeck booking system. Dealers receive a monthly commission of 20% on the rental and sales revenue generated in their store.
The standard Let to Rent program is especially interesting for smaller sports shops. But Doubledeck also wants to offer its snowboards in hotels and fitness studios, so that winter sports enthusiasts can rent Doubledeck boards anytime and anywhere.
2. Let to Rent Premium
Again, retailers pay a monthly rental fee to Doubledeck. With this option, however, the snowboards are rented directly in larger quantities and can be rented to winter sports enthusiasts at individual store conditions. A customer stopper can also be purchased from the retailer and is free for orders of 30 boards or more.
This option is primarily intended for rental shops in ski resorts.
Andreas Kramer, CEO of Doubledeck Snowboards, states: "The 'Let to Rent' rental program is the first of its kind in the winter sports industry. It offers numerous advantages for retailers and users. Instead of buying snowboards and losing valuable storage space, the boards can simply be offered as part of the rental program. Dealers can focus on their core business instead of storing and selling boards. The same goes for the rider: they can simply return the board at the end of the season and don't have to worry about proper storage during the summer and can use a refurbished board next season.
If retailers still prefer to sell the boards in the store, they can also purchase them from Doubledeck. The purchase price is then applied to any rental fees already paid.
