On 4/16/2019 the three climbers David Lama, Hansjörg Auer and Jess Roskelley were caught and killed by an avalanche on a tour in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The bodies were recovered on Easter Sunday. The outdoor community reacted shocked to the tragic accident of the climbing pioneers. That's how colleagues and industry giants like The North Face reacted.

Supposedly the trio was on a difficult route on the eastern side of Howse Peak. Howse Peak is located in Banff National Park and, at 3295 meters, the highest mountain in the Waputik Mountains, a part of the Canadian Rockies. The misfortune apparently occurred during the descent.

The death of the three top climbers caused great grief and horrified reactions in the international climbing community. Here are some of the sympathies.
