ISPO ACADEMY Leusden: How Technology is Changing Sports Retail

Sports, technology, and retail were the focus at the third ISPO ACADEMY Leusden. As part of the two-day Brand Events FW 17/18, in cooperation with the Sports Business Center, Ben van der Burg and Professor Kitty Koelemeijer gave lectures.

Virtual reality, wearables, and 3D printing would heavily strengthen the future of sporting good retails, said Ben van der Burg. The former professional speed skater and current IT entrepreneur gave lectures on the consequences of consumer behavior.

Brand Event visitors examine collections

How technology can help provide retailers with more conversion – Kitty Koelemeijer addressed this topic at the second lecture in front of the ISPO ACADEMY participants. The lecturer on marketing and retail at Nyenrode Business University also reported on how technology can make for more shopping experience. 

 

The two-day Brand Event attracted many visitors from Dutch and Belgian sports retail. Guests were able to exchange ideas in a casual atmosphere and inspect new collections for the 2017/18 fall-winter season from manufacturers like Jack Wolfskin and Icepeak.

The ISPO ACADEMY was supplemented with the Technology Center, where both Dutch and Belgian companies presented their latest innovations.
