With each product selected by the unique jury of international textile experts, this season’s jury meeting proved to be a harmonious one. Jury members used their individual knowledge and skills combined with group discussions to come to unanimous verdicts for each of the sectors featured.
Sustainability should no longer be regarded as a special aspect in developments, instead it is becoming the norm, whether it is from the recycled ingredients through to water and energy saving processes and renewed efficiency on a production level. This is really clear to see in the composition details of the selected materials featured in the ISPO Textrends TrendBook, accompanied by high resolution photos and macro images of each product, that give a clear indication of the products available.
While sustainability is the buzz word, we must not lose sight of the high level of performance, anti-odor and the multi functionality required for the season. A shift toward moisture management, cool touch, FIR wellbeing yarns and finishes through to UV protection, just to name a few features, in both synthetic and natural offerings.
Lighter weight materials also feature, in all aspects from fictional trims to micro light rip stops for apparel or soft equipment. Protection retains its position as the membrane and coating sector delivering DWR, comes through in a new and illuminated direction. But overall, the touch of fabrics continues to improve, as a sensual and softer haptic feature in both knits and wovens.
The ISPO Textrends forum can be found at Outdoor by ISPO and ISPO Shanghai, as well as having access to all the products 365 days a year with the seasonal TrendBook. Containing high resolution and full product details and contact details of all the products awarded by the jury, the illustrated mega trends, textile trends and color palettes included in the TrendBook outline the mood of the season.
