With the Women Tech Shell jacket, Bosideng proves that it is worth taking the specific needs of women into account when developing a women's jacket. The jacket not only impresses with its looks and technical features, but also with its many well thought-out details.

Winner of the ISPO Award 2024: The Women Tech Shell by Bosideng.

This lightweight down jacket is designed for women who want to stay comfortable and active in wet and cold weather between 0°C and 15°C. The down jacket is made from a proprietary nanotechnology fabric that is quiet, fluffy, breathable and protects against wind and rain. Combined with water repellent goose down, the quick-drying inner lining keeps the body warm.

More warmth, less volume

The jacket is equipped with an innovative breathability and moisture management system tailored to the female physique. Bosideng paid particular attention to the interaction between insulation and ventilation. Using infrared thermal imaging data of the female body during exercise, Bosideng has identified the areas where women are most susceptible to cold. In these cold-sensitive areas, such as the abdomen, hips and lower back, Bosideng uses a segmented down mapping structure to increase the static air layer with less fill and achieve the same warmth. In the centre of the back, where moisture tends to accumulate, an inverted T-shaped ventilation structure is combined with 100% moisture-wicking merino wool and laser-perforated ventilation channels to quickly wick moisture in multiple directions during low to moderate activity. The slanted three-dimensional down chambers at the back also direct warm air upwards to release moisture. A drawstring waist emphasizes a feminine silhouette without adding bulk or restricting movement.

Women-specific details

The down specialist has given even more thought to women's specific needs. For example, a pocket treated by NordShield®️ CiTex, a bio-based antibacterial technology, has been integrated into the jacket for the hygienic storage of feminine hygiene products. The company has also developed a detachable collar that can be easily removed and washed separately using magnetic buttons. This makes it easy to remove make-up stains without having to clean the entire jacket.

More efficient use of materials, RDS-certified down

While the jacket appears rather clean and minimalist on the outside, the inside shows a lot of attention to detail. The merino wool inserts in the chest area at the front and in the T-zone at the back were cut from the same piece of wool to improve wool utilization and reduce waste in production. Bosideng also uses RDS (Responsible Down Standard)-certified goose down with 800 fill power as filling. As a leading down apparel brand in China, 100 percent of Bosideng's down apparel has RDS certification.
