This is also shown in the design choices of the Mammut Eiger Nordwand Pro HS Hooded Jacket: A reduction of bonded elements, partial top-stitching, embroidered logos, and the exclusive use of big zippers and 2 cutlines along the CF zipper will make this jacket last longer, but also steers away from the current look of sleek and bonded styles of hardshells. Mammut’s choice will also impact the way the consumer expects a hardshell to be aesthetically in the future. 

Two cutlines along the CF zipper will strongly facilitate the replacement of the zipper in case it does break. A loop webbing at the storm flap as well as waterproof self-adhesive patches, that are delivered with every jacket, enable temporary in-field repair. All these things increase the longevity of the product and make it an even more sustainable choice than before - all while still delivering pinnacle performance for mountaineers and enabling human achievement in extreme environments.

A purpose-built high-reach pattern for unrestricted mobility and a full set of climbing and mountaineering-specific features complete this jacket. The rugged 80d GORE-TEX Pro 3L material with a recycled nylon face, a solution-dyed backer, and of course the new PFC-free ePE membrane technology, make this jacket a go-to, keeping you protected and safe in the mountains while being 100% PFC-free. It is waterproof, windproof, breathable, and highly abrasion-resistant. 
Shaped cuffs with hook and loop adjustment and grosgrain tab extension offer improved use when wearing gloves. A dual-sided hem adjustment with custom-designed cord pullers delivers an improved haptic and better functionality when wearing gloves. A RECCO® reflector is featured for improved searchability in emergencies. Two harness-compatible front pockets and two internal mesh dump pockets create enough storage for essential items. A helmet-compatible 3-way adjustable hood with a reinforced peak provides full storm protection while maintaining excellent visibility. The shaped hem and an extended back length also offer enhanced weather protection. The jacket also has underarm ventilation zips and a zip-off snow skirt
