VAUDE has set itself the goal of achieving global climate neutrality along its entire supply chain. In order to meet this goal, the materials chosen will naturally play a decisive role. By using recycled materials such as used PET bottles, CO2 emissions in textile production can be roughly halved. Starting with the Winter Season 2021, the outdoor outfitter will manufacture all of its windproof softshells primarily from recycled materials. But that's not enough for the brand – from next winter, half of all VAUDE products will be made from at least 50 % recycled or biobased, renewable raw resources.

Sustainable materials are also gaining importance in the production of textiles. VAUDE sets lofty goals for itself: Europe's most sustainable outdoor supplier for mountain and bike sports has the ambition of manufacturing more than 90 percent of its products from recycled or biobased materials by 2024. With a total of 30 windproof models made primarily from recycled softshell fabrics, the Fall/Winter 2021 Collection is an important milestone in achieving this brand material goal. And many products meet this target with a recycled content of more than 75 percent.

By using fabrics made from recycled PET bottles, VAUDE can avoid the extraction of petroleum, reduce emissions and use "waste" as a valuable raw material. This new collection will help VAUDE make an important contribution to the environment and climate. The new softshells proudly communicate their inner values to the outside world with a print on the outer fabric as well – the "Recycled Inside" logo confidently points to their sustainable qualities

Recycled softshells – protecting you and our climate.

The new VAUDE softshells aren't just inspiring in terms of environmental protection and resource conservation either. With exceptional features, they also impress with high functionality for a wide range of outdoor activities. Whether on foot, bike or skis – the Winter Collection 2021 softshell jackets are reliable companions for adventures in cooler temperatures. Windproof and water repellent without harmful fluorocarbons (PFC), they offer protection from adverse conditions on the trail, road or mountain. Thanks to their stretchy, breathable properties, they're very comfortable to wear and guarantee an excellent microclimate.

Outdoor fun for the entire family, well protected from the weather

A special highlight of the new softshell range is the Elope Softshell Jacket, made almost completely from recycled materials. VAUDE just needs to find a 100 % solution for the membrane and zipper. Windproof and water repellent, it has a hood, front pockets and adjustable cuffs and is always ready for action. Whether you're more into bike sports or mountain sports, the new generation of VAUDE softshells proves that using recycled materials doesn't equate to a loss in performance. The new, recycled versions of VAUDE classics like the Wintry Jacket IV or the Cyclone Jacket VI are also impressive with their high breathability and ability to keep the wind out. Whether it's icy winds on a fast descent with your mountain bike or a wind-blown peak while hiking, you'll be well protected in these models. Of course, it's not just the adults who need to keep warm on their adventures. VAUDE has options for the kids as well. The Kids Rondane Jacket IV consists of over 75 percent recycled materials and offers reliable protection from wind and cold when romping in the forest or on a hike in the fall.

Weather and climate protection in one

With its Fall/Winter 2021 Collection, VAUDE has positioned itself as a pioneer in the field of sustainable windproof softshells and clearly shown that functionality and sustainability can go hand in hand. All next generation softshells will have a PFC-free water repellent finish (made without harmful fluorocarbons) and sport the VAUDE Green Shape label and the state-supervised "Grüner Knopf" textile seal. These seals guarantee eco-friendly and socially fair production with certified materials and provide orientation for responsible consumers.
