At the ISPO Munich 2018 in January, Skistar Felix Neureuther said he had to think about his professional future, when the 33-year-old DSV athlete presented the new model "s. Light Compact" from avalanche airbag manufacturer ABS Protection.
And the German winter sports star caused a figurative explosion. He presented the airbag with a loud bang in front of the surprised viewers. What's more, Neureuther has since been an official investor in ABS Protection.
For managing director Dr. Stefan Mohr, Neureuthers' commitment after the takeover of the company in October 2017 is a major step towards realigning the brand. The next one followed.
Because: ABS Protection GmbH announced its move from Gräfelfing to downtown Munich, more precisely to Schwabing (Gundelindenstraße 2).
In addition to the practical situation, working under one roof with several SPIN Capital brands is also a driving factor, according to the press release.
"The new environment offers ideal opportunities to exploit synergies with other sports brands in the same building", explained marketing manager Michael Vogt. "The location is an important cornerstone for us to get back to the action and give our team the best possible development opportunities."
ABS Protection invented the avalanche airbag in 1985. Now the company is moving into the future at its new location - with Neureuther by its side.
