Danny MacAskill
Danny MacAskill has made bike trial sport world-famous with his spectacular stunts. The British rider's YouTube videos show breathtaking tricks in unusual settings and now have millions and millions of views. It's no wonder that MacAskill counts global brands like Red Bull, Adidas and GoPro among his partners.
Danny entertains thousands of viewers with his videos. And not only that, he also inspires them.
His own role model is former trial bike pro Martyn Ashton. The four-time British champion and world champion has been in a wheelchair since 2013 because he has been paraplegic since an accident. And Danny's manager Tarek Rasouli is also a paraplegic as a result of a biking accident. And yet Danny shrinks from nothing and remains true to his passion. During his daredevil stunts, MacAskill has already broken his right foot three times, his left foot five times and his collarbone three times. No reason for the bike freak to give up his passion. An inspiring hero!
Danny also inspires through his commitment to charity. After he inspired in a music video of the Doves in 2009, his bike from the video was subsequently auctioned for 3400 euros and the proceeds donated to Children in Need.
Danny MacAskill sees the world as a big bike playground. And who would be better off there with him than two-year-old Daisy? She is the daughter of Stu Thomson, Cut Media founder, director and friend of Danny, and was allowed to spend a day with the bike pro on the bike. The YouTube video went through the roof: It has a total of 11 million views to date.
In addition to the world-famous YouTube stunts, Danny MacAskill also presents his skills in live shows. Together with Duncan Shaw, he founded Drop an Roll, a professional street trial team. Other bike pros, such as Fabio Wibmer, are also part of the team.
