Jointly responsible for the growth in sales were the subsidiary Laidir Leisure (with the Powerhouse Fitness brand), which was acquired in 2015, and Fitshop P.V. whose figures were included for the first time this year.
Christian Grau, CEO of Sport-Tiedje explained: “We have been working with great dedication to integrate our new colleagues from Fitshop and Powerhouse Fitness in the group, synchronize and optimize our processes and coordinate our offers with one another.”
With four new own branches in Europe and 21 fixed shop-in-shops thanks to its cooperation with Karstadt Sports, Sport-Tiedje also invested in its own store network.
Grau focusing on further coverage
CEO Grau is focusing on new shops for the future: “Above all we want to establish ourselves more widely than before in our operating markets. To do so we have markets in mind that are currently only covered by online shops.”
With 66 shops in Germany, the UK, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Denmark and its headquarters in Schleswig, Germany, the Sport‐Tiedje group is currently the largest specialist retailer of home fitness devices and equally one of the most renowned online‐mail order companies for fitness‐equipment in the world.
