Normally, regatta courses for sailors or surfers have to be elaborately measured, the regatta buoys and tack marks have to be fixed to the bottom with anchors. The GPS-controlled regatta buoy SMARTMARK, on the other hand, works at the push of a button. The desired position is entered via a web-based application and the buoy moves to its place independently. Two electric motors keep it autonomously in position for 24 hours, regardless of water depth or ground conditions.
