Gold Winner | Orage Morrison Jacket | Midlayer
With its Morrison Jacket, the Canadian outdoor outfitter Orage from is attempting a complex juggling act: The mid-layer jacket needs to be warm, but it also can’t overheat during high levels of activity. On top of that, it needs to offer plenty of freedom of movement. This is made possible by what Orage terms its Gilltek technology. Excess heat is quickly dissipated through mesh openings in the fabric, of course without letting in the cold. The insulation is constructed from Primaloft Recycled Thermoplume. The Ripstop Taffeta fabric made of 100 percent recycled nylon was another point that helped convince the jury: Orage’s Morrison Jacket deserved to be the Gold Winner Snowsport in the category Mid Layer.
